The AMSR sensor team was
organized through research announcements in three categories:
retrieval algorithm development, calibration and validation, and
Earth science. The team activity covers both ADEOS-II/AMSR and
Aqua/AMSR-E. Workshops are being held periodically for discussion
and information exchange. Since the Aqua/AMSR-E is a joint program
with NASA, a joint NASA-JAXA AMSR science team was formed to
promote and coordinate AMSR scientific activities. This team
consists of NASA AMSR-E science team members and the AMSR sensor
team core members.
Inside JAXA, the project
is promoted through cooperation among related departments such as
general planning, sensor development, ground system development,
and research and analysis.
