This image shows the Japanese Islands observed by GLI on April 6, 2003. It rained in the Kanto Area on April 5. On the following day, it was sunny after a low-pressure zone passed, perfect weather for cherry-blossom viewing (Hanami).
From the Kanto area to western Japan, we can see fresh green leaves coming out through hazy spring air.

China also has a season of new green leaves, especially in the Yangtze River basin. This image was obtained by GLI on April 6 (same day as above).

For this beautiful planet ADEOS-IIThe Initial Check-out for the Midori-II was completed on April 14, and Midori-II entered the Calibration and Validation Phase.
