Symposium and Workshops

Ocean Session

  1. The Ocean Theme was established as the first IGOS theme
    > Two projects: GODAE and IOCCG
  2. Global Ocean Data Assimilation Experiment (GODAE)
    > Operational Oceanography
  3. GODAE demonstration phase:  2003-2005
In the Ocean Session, activities and sciences relating to the Ocean Theme and GODAE are presented.

    Recommendations
    1. Sustainable supply of the satellite ocean measurements whether operational or R&D sensors  (e.g., GCOM-B1)
    2. Real-time access to sensor measurements for operational demonstration and for generation of inter-sensor robust products (e.g., Scattrometer rain-flag by AMSR)
    3. Development of coastal/regional high-resolution products for integrated coastal area research and management (e.g., New SST, 10km Scattrometer winds)
    4. Establishment of Data Servers for real-time access to the satellite and model product (e.g. GODAE servers)
