The ADEOS-II GLI sensor captured this image of a volcanic eruption of Mt.Chikura on Paramushir Island, which is located south of Kamchatka. The smoke plume from this volcano is clearly visible, drifting in a southeasterly direction. You can also see ash cover (black triangle) in the middle of the island, confirming this eruption from April 18.
